Management Trainee - Branch Operations

Location: Bangalore (on-site, 6-day working week) Employment: Full-time Reporting to: Sales Head Joining: Immediate ROLE The Management Trainee - Branch Operations will be trained to take end-to-end responsibility for branch operations across sales, service, stock, people, processes, customer experience and reporting. This is a hands-on role, not a desk-based position. The candidate will work closely with the Sales Head and branch teams, learn every major function, and progressively take ownership of the floor, workshop, numbers and team performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Sales Drive branch retail targets, enquiry-to-retail conversion and follow-up discipline. Monitor test rides, exchange, finance and insurance attachment. Ensure every walk-in receives a manager interaction and every walk-out has a recorded reason. Support local demand generation through corporate accounts, field activities, referrals and branch catchment initiatives. Ensure every lead is captured and tracked to closure. Service and workshop Monitor workshop throughput, service retention, repeat visits and AMC performance. Track job-card flow, promised delivery times, pending vehicles and customer complaints. Coordinate between sales and service for vehicle delivery, free-service follow-up and complaint closure. Maintain workshop productivity, quality and housekeeping standards. Vehicle and spare-parts stock Support disciplined vehicle ordering, ageing control and management of the model and colour mix. Monitor stock movement and reconcile physical stock with system stock. Maintain spare-parts and consumables availability while controlling excess and ageing stock. People management Support the hiring, training, rostering and performance review of sales, service, workshop and support teams. Set daily targets and conduct the morning branch huddle. Participate in individual performance reviews and corrective conversations. Maintain attendance, discipline, productivity and accountability across departments. Process and systems Ensure accurate, same-day data entry in HMSI systems, including Smart App, HiRise and Mobility. Maintain enquiry source tagging, follow-up updates and manager remarks. Ensure compliance with HMSI standards and internal company processes. Reconcile operational numbers across systems and escalate discrepancies with evidence. Customer experience Monitor the complete customer journey from enquiry through delivery and after-sales service. Ensure timely complaint resolution and clear customer communication. Improve customer feedback, referrals and the branch's online reputation. Reporting and branch control Prepare daily and weekly MIS covering enquiries, follow-ups, conversion, retail, service, stock and team performance. Add clear commentary, causes and corrective actions rather than submitting data alone. Review branch performance against targets and help close identified gaps. Escalate risks early with evidence and a recovery plan. CANDIDATE PROFILE 0-5 years of experience. Smart freshers who learn quickly are encouraged to apply. BBA, B.Com or any relevant general graduate degree. Exposure to automobile retail or a two-wheeler dealership is an advantage, but not mandatory. Experience managing a branch or a large sales/service team is an added advantage, but strong candidates without this experience will still be considered. Working knowledge of dealership DMS or CRM systems is an advantage. Exposure to HMSI Smart App, HiRise or Mobility is a plus. Hands-on, willing to stay present on the sales floor and in the workshop. Strong numerical, reporting and problem-solving ability. Kannada and English required; Hindi is an advantage. COMPENSATION Fixed component: Rs 3.6-4.2 lakh per year. Performance-linked variable component: Rs 0.6-1.2 lakh per year. Total annual compensation: Rs 4.2-5.4 lakh per year.
