Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, R&D, and manufacturing to develop Steel & Plastic component designs that meet project requirements.
– Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new developments.
– Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or Fusion 360) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of plastic components, considering manufacturability, cost, and quality.
– Select appropriate Steel & plastic materials based on project specifications and application requirements.
– Conduct structural and thermal analyses using simulation tools to validate design integrity and performance.
– Develop and maintain design documentation, including bill of materials, design reports, specifications and costing.
– Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that components are manufactured to meet design specifications and quality standards.
– Willingness to travel to production sites, vendors and other locations as per project requirement.
– Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize design processes and reduce production costs.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
– 3 years of experience in steel & plastic component design and manufacturing.
– Proficiency in CAD & Simulation software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc).
– Strong knowledge of plastic materials and their properties.
– Experience with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, Mold flow analysis).
– Knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling design and fabrication from steel tubes.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with good communication and teamwork abilities.
– Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality designs.
– Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
– Experience with other manufacturing processes for plastic components (e.g., extrusion, blow molding).
– Knowledge of DFMEA, VAVE, PPAP and QAQC principles.
– Familiarity with design for sustainability and environmental considerations.

Salary: ₹250,000.00 – ₹500,000.00 per year
