Duties & Responsibilities
OPD duties:
To perform initial counselling, interviewing assessment like taking history, physically examining patient & formulating differential diagnosis of OPD & follow up patient, prescribing to do investigation to diagnose their medical condition & fix immediate course of treatment plan & refer to relevant specialist consultant for medical care.
To perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections.
IPD duties
To carry out any investigation (radiological, pathological laboratory) as instructed by the physician/consultant & inform to the consultants of any unusual test report.
Handing over to RMOs, residents, work up of all new patients.
To fill up admission file, enter exact details observed in IPD files& discharge summary of patients.
To go on rounds with the consultants, nurses & ensure their orders are carried out.
To ensure proper medical & nursing care.
To monitor, access & evaluate effectiveness of treatment implication& day to day clinical status identifying short term & long patient care issues &do daily documentation writing of progress notes of IPD & post-operative admitted patients.
OT duties:
Prepare files, patients for surgery& assist the surgeon for operative surgery.
Receive patients on the floor from Operation Theatre, write a note regarding patients condition on shifting to ICCU, ICU, IPD floor & to write postoperative care notes.
Casualty duties:
To examine, admit emergency patients, conduct investigation, start line of treatment according to medical condition & inform the consultant accordingly.
ICU duties:
To carry out emergency procedures like central line , artificial feeding modalities, intubation, ventilator operator etc & any other clinical non-invasive procedures like, CPR, tracheostomy, dressing, digital rectal examination, artificial feeding modalities .
Other duties:
To participate in presentation of CMEs & journal clubs & teaching programs, maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Liaoning with other medical & non-medical staffs in hospital to ensure quality treatment& undertake any other managerial responsibilities, planning workload, staffing, thereby developing health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experimental growth opportunities
To counsel, consult, advice& solve queries of patients relatives about prescription/medication/treatment plan/investigation reports. Also explaining all procedures to patient, as well as all pre-procedure advices to be observed by the patients before procedure.
