Job Description
Main responsibilities of a Service Advisor
1. Customer interaction
Greet customers and understand vehicle problems
Record complaints or service requests clearly
Explain service process, cost estimates, and timelines
2. Vehicle inspection & job card creation
Inspect vehicles (sometimes with technicians)
Create job cards with detailed service requirements
Ensure correct problem diagnosis is recorded
3. Cost estimation & approval
Prepare repair/service estimates
Get customer approval before starting work
Explain charges transparently (labour + parts)
4. Workshop coordination
Assign jobs to technicians/mechanics
Monitor service progress and deadlines
Coordinate with parts department for spare availability
5. Updates to customers
Provide regular updates on service status
Inform about delays or additional repairs needed
Get approval for extra work if required
6. Quality check & delivery
Ensure vehicle is properly serviced before delivery
Conduct final inspection with workshop team
Explain completed work to customer at delivery
7. Billing & documentation
Prepare final bill and invoice
Maintain service records and warranty documentation
8. Customer satisfaction & follow-up
Handle complaints or service issues
Follow up after delivery for feedback
Build long-term customer relationships
